Benny's Pedigree

OHADI BEN RABBA is one of the most beloved and successful CMK sires alive today.  A product of Curtis Cox's well known "OHADI" breeding program in Idaho, Benny was purchased as a young stallion by Dr. David Ward of Fairview Stud, Canada.  "Benny's" sire, BEN RABBA++/, was internationally known.  He was the first American-bred stallion ever leased abroad and stood at stud in England for 2-1/2 years.  "Benny's" grandsire, AURAB, has been one of the very best sources of correct conformation, excellent disposition, beautiful trot and performance capability, as witnesed by his numerous champions in a wide variety of performance disciplines. 

In 1996, "Benny" was leased to Michigan State University, where he was to spend the next 5 years siring a string of performance champions for the university - a number of them being shown today having the initials "MSU" preceding their names.  Since MSU has, primarily, a Polish-bred broodmare herd, Benny had his opportunity to show the world the CMK/Polish cross.  To say that he was sucessful is putting it mildly.  "Benny" bred some the the California State Polytechnic University's Heritage herd mares during that time, also siring national level champions for their owners.

 After the lease to MSU, "Benny" returned to Canada where he has resided at Fairview Stud, to sire outstanding CMK foals for Dr. Ward. 

Very recently (and after a lot of begging on my part) Dr. Ward decided to let "Benny" come to SoCal, and a much wamer climate, to live out his senior years.  We sincerely hope that "Benny" is with us for a long time to come.  Select Pegasus Park mares are eagerly awaiting the Spring!!
